Black Hat Basics

The dark arts at least that is how Google treats these different techniques. I have used some and have had good results, but only for a short time until Google and other major search engines decided to ban whatever presence had used the techniques. The definition of Black Hat SEO is using unethical techniques when attempting to reach number one in Google or other search engines. It sometimes includes any manipulation of the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) though I highly disagree with this definition since 99% of the webmasters or bloggers who runs a successful presence used internet marketing to boost their ranking. After reading this article you should be able to market your website without fear of getting banned.
The first black hat techniques have to do with on site manipulation. The majority of these have to do with over use of keywords. One of the most used black hat techniques is keyword stuffing which is repeating your keywords over and over. Usually anything over 10% density will be considered stuffing to Google and a site with this much repetition will be flagged and dragged down deep within the SERPs. It is important to have keywords throughout your content, but when they make the majority of your content you will see adverse consequences. The next technique I see over and over is cloaking which is hiding keyword anchored links within your website. This is when you place links all over your website full of keywords and so close to the color of your background that a human eye cannot tell the difference. These again will be seen as manipulation and your site will probably be banned for using techniques like these. One tip I will give you is when SEOing your website if it interferes with readability, usability, or deteriorates any visual aspect of your website then don’t use it.
The next black hat technique is creating presences used for maximizing backlinks without having any usable content. These are blogs full of thousands and thousands of backlinks usually without any organization. Not only do they look horrible, but Google will not count any of them. What Google likes is tons of fresh unique content and one way backlinks from authoritative sources that are relevant to your niche. If you do these two things for an extended period of time at least a year then you will have no problem gaining not only SERPs position, but also plenty of referral traffic from the websites in your niche from those that really enjoy your website and would like to share it with their visitors. Just remember that if you are not sure whether or not to use a certain form of marketing it is always better to be safe than sorry and not use it.
