Install Microsoft Windows Font in Kubuntu

If the default fonts in Linux doesn’t satisfy you much and you still want to have a taste of MS windows font in Kubuntu specially for Firefox or for whatever reason it maybe, then here’s how you can do it in a very simple step.

Distro: Kubuntu Hardy Heron

  1. Click on the K menu
  2. Go to Add/Remove Programs (adept installer).
  3. On the search box, type: fonts
  4. Put a check on Microsoft Core Fonts, click on apply changes.

Default Font Settings of Firefox in Windows:

Default font: Times New Roman Size: 16

Under the Advanced button:

Fonts for: Western

Proportional: Serif Size: 16
Serif: Times New Roman
Sans-serif: Arial
Monospace: Courier New Size: 13
